Self-efficacy evaluation and anxiety level in the educational process of first year medical student.

Abstract
- The educational process at the Faculty of Medicine demands qualified theoretical abilities and clinical skills. Anxiety and low self-confidence as first-year students may become obstacles in the educational process. Individuals who have good self-efficacy will easily adapt and have low levels of anxiety. The aim of this study is to evaluate self-efficacy and anxiety of first-year medical students in Jakarta. This study applied a cross-sectional analytic method using the General Self-Efficacy questionnaire and Zung Self-Anxiety Scale on 151 respondents of first-year student in the medical study program. As result, 19.9% of the students had low self-efficacy, 36.4% had moderate self-efficacy and 43.7% had high self-efficacy. Meanwhile, 60.9% of the students experienced no anxiety, 19.9% experienced mild to moderate anxiety and 19.2% experienced severe anxiety. The Ci-square test showed a p-value <0.05. There is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and the level of anxiety in first-year medical students. Future studies needed to show the academic performance level as confirmation factor to the self-efficacy level. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
