Hexafluoroisopropyl N -Fluorosulfonyl Carbamate: Synthesis and Its Facile Transformation to Sulfamoyl Ureas.

This article discusses the synthesis of a reagent called hexafluoroisopropyl N-fluorosulfonyl carbamate (HFC) and its transformation into sulfamoyl ureas. Sulfamoyl ureas are known for their use as herbicides and inhibitors of human acyl-CoA: cholesterol O-acyl-transferase. The article describes the synthesis of HFC and its bench-stability, as well as the reaction between HFC and amines to produce sulfamoyl ureas.
