Abstract
- This article discusses the synthesis of a reagent called hexafluoroisopropyl N-fluorosulfonyl carbamate (HFC) and its transformation into sulfamoyl ureas. Sulfamoyl ureas are known for their use as herbicides and inhibitors of human acyl-CoA: cholesterol O-acyl-transferase. The article describes the synthesis of HFC and its bench-stability, as well as the reaction between HFC and amines to produce sulfamoyl ureas. The optimized conditions for this reaction are also discussed. This research provides a new method for accessing bioactive molecules. [Extracted from the article]
