Abstract
- "Never Together: The Economic History of a Segregated America" by Peter Temin is a historical narrative that explores the racial divide in American economic and social life. The book covers various periods, including slavery, Reconstruction, the Gilded Age, the Civil Rights movement, and the Trump presidency. Temin argues that racism was perpetuated by ruling elites as a strategy to divide and weaken the working class. However, some arguments in the book are not well defended, and the issue of reparations for enslaved Americans is not addressed. [Extracted from the article]
