Abstract

The article discusses the design of the Cabo Sports Complex in Los Cabos, Mexico, by Taller Héctor Barroso. The architect aimed to create a sports venue that contrasts with the flashy commercial architecture in the area and instead blends in with the natural surroundings. The complex features rammed-earth walls that provide acoustic and thermal benefits, and the design incorporates an underlying grid and a central pathway. The buildings within the complex are designed to be flexible and multifunctional, and the project is intended to evolve over time. While currently only used for the annual tennis tournament, there are plans to activate the complex year-round for various events. [Extracted from the article]
