Abstract

Among renewable energy sources, solar energy is quickly becoming popular because it is inexhaustible, clean and reliable. It has also become more efficient as the energy conversion efficiency of photovoltaic solar cells has increased. Following these trends, solar energy will become more affordable in the coming years and significant investments should be expected. Management and rational use of land resources is currently a pressing problem in the world, in particular in Uzbekistan. A number of land plots are in some cases used irrationally and not for their intended purpose. Land survey methods implement technologies to determine optimal locations for the construction of solar photovoltaic power plants. They implement an integrated framework for land suitability assessment, which is based on a combination of GIS (geographic information system) and remote sensing (satellite imagery) techniques. The objective of this section is to develop a technology that will implement an integrated framework for assessing land suitability for optimal solar PV power plant locations and is based on a combination of GIS and remote sensing techniques and multi-criteria decision analysis.
