Abstract
- This article discusses a case of a delayed onset Type I allergic reaction following black tattoo removal using a picosecond laser. The patient experienced blisters, itching, burning, redness, and swelling after each laser treatment, with symptoms worsening over time. The authors suspect that the laser treatment caused a delayed allergic reaction to breakdown products or metabolites released into the bloodstream. The article highlights the need for further research on allergic reactions resulting from laser-assisted tattoo removal and emphasizes the importance of clinicians being aware of these reactions when counseling patients.
