It is foreseen that blockchain technology would be more integrated into various fields such as health, law, supply chain and logistics, information technologies, energy, in addition to finance sector. Based on this foresight, the starting point of the study is to determine which features come to the fore in preference of blockchain technology and the sectors where its utilization holds greater significance. In this direction, the study aims to identify the importance level of the features of blockchain technology and the level of preference for adopting blockchain technology across the sectors. In the first stage, the importance level of the features of blockchain technology is determined using the DEMATEL. In the second stage, the preference level for adopting blockchain technology across different sectors is investigated through the WASPAS. The findings show that transparency, independence, and immutability are the three most crucial characteristics of blockchain technology. Furthermore, the law sector, followed by the public sector and insurance sector, are identified as the top three sectors where the preference for utilizing this technology is expected to be the highest. These findings emphasize the need to expand the focus of blockchain technology beyond the finance sector and explore it in various other domains. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
