Abstract
- This article discusses the modeling of intraindividual variability (IIV) as predictors in longitudinal research. IIV refers to the short-term fluctuations of a variable, and it is commonly studied in psychology. The article explores different approaches to modeling IIV, including standard regression models and dynamic structural equation modeling (DSEM). The authors conducted a simulation study to compare the performance of these approaches and found that the one-step full Bayesian modeling approach generally performed well. The study aims to provide practical recommendations for accurately modeling IIV as predictors. [Extracted from the article]
