Abstract
- The scattering of flexural waves in piezoelectric thin plates with defects effects the electro-mechanical coupling property. Theoretical analysis for flexural waves is lack of a suitable decoupling function. Here, we have developed a method based on applied electric field to make a solution of the dynamic moment concentration factor (DMCF) for flexural waves scattering problems. The DMCFs of the piezoelectric materials have been found that it is significantly larger than those of the ordinary elastic materials because of electro-mechanical coupling. In the region of low frequency, DMCFs have a dependence on applied electric field and independent on the incident angle. Those opposite phenomena are observed as the frequency increasing. Those results provide theoretical guidance for dynamic analysis and strength design of piezoelectric material structures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
