Abstract

The article explores the ethical concerns surrounding normothermic regional perfusion (NRP) in organ procurement after cardiac death. It identifies four main ethical concerns with NRP and suggests ex situ perfusion as an alternative. The text also discusses different methods for organ procurement and transplantation, highlighting the advantages of hypothermic oxygenated perfusion (HOPE) over normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) and NRP. It emphasizes the need for more research and adherence to legal and ethical standards in organ donation.
