The report aims to present the need to introduce new management approaches for effective management of regional development in the context of the global development of modern countries. Regional development is defined as a process of spatial and territorial change to transform the regional world, which brings to the fore the transformation of analog technologies into a business philosophy that is based on innovation, using interconnection and immediate transfer of information and knowledge. In the report, the term digitization is used to mark the transformational change of the local economy, outlining the new governance architecture of the regions. On the other hand, the digitalization of education at the regional level consists of moving from traditional teaching methods and techniques through interconnection and transfer of information with the help of electronic devices, multimedia educational resources and valuing not the skills of repeating information, but the ability to be creative when using the content taught.
