Abstract

This document is a comment on an article about electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring in intensive care patients. The authors agree that processed EEG has potential benefits but highlight some considerations and limitations that were not addressed in the original article. They discuss the limitations of proprietary algorithms used in processed EEG monitors and the effect of adjuvant medications on raw EEG and processed index values. They question the oversimplification of processed EEG monitoring into a single number and advocate for training in the interpretation of raw EEG. [Extracted from the article]
