Abstract

This article presents a court case in which a person named Morgan decided to will everything to one of his friends named Alex. Before he could see his lawyer, he mentioned his intention to Potts, a shoe salesman with a burning desire to be an attorney. Potts persuaded Morgan to let him draw up the will for a fee of one dollar. Shortly afterward, Morgan died. It then developed that his will was so improperly drawn that his estate went to his heirs instead of to Alex. Alex sued Potts for damages.
