Abstract

In this paper, I offer a dimensional approach to empathy, which I propose has an immediate perception-like aspect and an extended narrative aspect. In psychoanalysis, we go back and forth between these two forms of empathy. Our elaboration of the other's situation in the world ends up as a new holistic perception of their state. In this way, narratives end up in the body. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
