Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one can sing The article describes an in-depth psychoanalytic treatment of a man suffering from depression, inner emptiness and the consequences of earlier traumatic experiences. It begins with behavioral pre-treatment, which lays the foundation for later psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Over the course of the therapy, an intensive process unfolds in which the patient works through deep inner states and traumatic experiences. The article sheds light on the complexity of the treatment, which is characterized by the interweaving of structural, conflict-related and traumatic aspects, and shows how the therapeutic relationship and creative forms of expression contribute to healing.
