Abstract
- This article presents a study on the long-term effects of vonoprazan, a potassium-competitive acid blocker, on gastric mucosal lesions. The study reports two cases where patients developed gastric cracked mucosa, white spots, and gastric polyps after starting vonoprazan treatment. However, these lesions improved or disappeared when the patients switched to proton pump inhibitors. The article emphasizes the need for further research to understand the underlying mechanisms and suggests that long-term monitoring is necessary to track changes in the lesions' appearance. The document also includes microscopic evidence from a tissue biopsy, showing a mucus pool within a dilated duct, and provides images of the two cases for reference. This information may be valuable for researchers studying gastropathies in patients undergoing P-CAB treatment. [Extracted from the article]
