Abstract

Reticulate acropigmentation of Kitamura (RAPK) is a rare genetic hyperpigmentation disorder that is, characterized by hyperpigmented macules or papules that may interrupt the dermatoglyphics with extra-dermatological manifestations. The characteristic skin lesions are atrophic, reticulate, slightly depressed pigmented macules mainly affecting the dorsa of the hands and feet, which first appear before puberty and subsequently expand to the proximal limb and the trunk. We report the case of 65-year-old male, who presented with multiple bilateral symmetrical, hyper pigmented, well defined, discrete macules and plaque seen over the neck, both shoulders, both axilla, both cubital fossa, both knees, both legs and bilateral dorsum of hands. The gold standard "skin biopsy" confirmed the diagnosis of the RAPK. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
