Abstract
- This article, titled "Casey Revisited: A Contrarian Look at Baseball's Most Famous Fictional Slugger," presents an alternative perspective on the events described in the famous poem "Casey at the Bat." The author, David Krell, argues that Casey, the protagonist of the poem, actually struck out in the final at-bat, contrary to the popular interpretation of the poem. Krell suggests that this alternative view challenges the traditional narrative and offers a different perspective on the outcome of the game. The article was presented by Krell at the NINE Spring Training Conference in 2023. [Extracted from the article]
