Abstract

A case report published in Reactions Weekly describes a man who exhibited lack of efficacy during treatment with methotrexate and prednisolone for NXP-2 positive dermatomyositis. The man initially developed a rash and myalgias in his lower legs after being bitten by an unknown insect, which then spread to other areas of his body. Despite treatment with prednisolone and methotrexate, his dysphagia continued to progress. As a result, rituximab was initiated and a percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy was implanted.
