Decolonising the Library – in Deutschland?

Das Begriffsverständnis von Dekolonialisierung, die Schnittstelle von dekolonialer Theorie mit dem Bibliothekswesen und mögliche Handlungsoptionen in informationsvermittelnden Einrichtungen sind Inhalte dieses Artikels. Mithilfe eines Sachstands- und Literaturberichts werden begriffliche Interpretations- und Deutungsschwierigkeiten erläutert. Eine typenbildende Inhaltsanalyse führt zur Entwicklung eines Kategoriensystems der ermittelten Handlungsmöglichkeiten. Insgesamt werden neun Kategorien definiert und durch zugehörige Anwendungsbeispiele ergänzt. The conceptual understanding of decolonization, the interface of decolonial theory with librarianship, and possible options for action in information-providing institutions are contents of this article. With the help of a factual and literature review, conceptual interpretation and interpretation difficulties are explained. A type-forming content analysis leads to the development of a category system of the identified options for action.
