Abstract
- This article reflects on a recent trip to the West Bank, Palestine, where the authors aimed to document the daily life of residents. However, they found that the term "everyday life" does not accurately describe the condition in the West Bank, where there is a constant cycle of disasters and grief. The focus of the project shifted to memory and witnessing, as these were found to be at the forefront of the Palestinian struggle. The authors share their experiences in different cities and refugee camps, highlighting the challenges and dangers faced by the residents. They emphasize the value of testimony and the importance of preserving and transmitting it over time. The text discusses the concept of testimony and its importance in conveying personal experiences and historical events, using the stories of Primo Levi, a Holocaust survivor, and Abu Majen, a Palestinian refugee, as examples. The text also mourns the loss of Jafar, a Palestinian resistance fighter, and emphasizes the daily violence faced by Palestinians, calling for an end to the occupation. It concludes by discussing a documentary project that aims to document Palestinian memory and raise awareness about the situation. [Extracted from the article]
