Abstract

A 61-year-old woman experienced multiple toxicities while being treated with pembrolizumab for clear cell renal cell carcinoma. She developed myocarditis, acute motor and sensory axonal polyneuropathy, colitis, hypothyroidism, hepatitis, and purpura fulminans. The woman was admitted to the ICU with symptoms of haemodynamic instability, heart failure, and purpura fulminans. She was diagnosed with immune-induced myocarditis, polyneuropathy, colitis, hypothyroidism, hepatitis, and purpura fulminans. Treatment with pembrolizumab was discontinued, and the woman received methylprednisolone, immune-globulin, plasma exchanges, and surgery. After four months, her corticosteroids were gradually tapered down, and at a six-month follow-up, her skin lesions had completely healed. [Extracted from the article]
