Abstract
- A 25-year-old woman developed IgA vasculitis (IgAV) and experienced vaccination failure after receiving the elasomeran vaccine for immunization against SARS-CoV-2 infection. The woman noticed skin rashes on her lower limbs and forearms three months after the second dose of elasomeran. Recurrent episodes of the rash occurred three times at intervals of approximately seven days. She also developed mild upper respiratory symptoms and was diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 breakthrough infection. Later, she experienced severe epigastric pain, arthralgia, and a skin rash eruption. The woman was diagnosed with systemic IgAV of the skin, duodenum, and joints as an adverse reaction to elasomeran. She was treated with prednisolone and achieved symptom relief. She decided not to receive the third dose of elasomeran and did not experience any flare-ups of IgAV without prednisolone treatment for over six months. [Extracted from the article]
