Abstract

In a retrospective chart review study, a 9-year-old boy with Anti-HMG Coenzyme A reductase antibody myopathy was found to have a lack of efficacy during treatment with immune-globulin. The boy had a history of muscle weakness and high levels of anti-HMGCR antibodies. He initially showed improvement with immune-globulin treatment, but after 2 years, his creatine kinase levels remained elevated. He then started receiving treatment with methotrexate and showed improvement in muscle strength. After 11 years, his condition had improved, and he was able to participate in soccer with mild fatigue. [Extracted from the article]
