Abstract

This article discusses a proof of concept for reversible hydrogen storage using the cyclooctane-cyclooctene system. The study focuses on a hybrid catalyst that combines an organometallic pincer complex and Pd-Ru nanostructures immobilized on a γ-alumina support. This catalyst enables dehydrogenation and hydrogenation in a tandem fashion, with the released hydrogen showing promise as a potential automotive fuel source. The research provides valuable insights for the design and development of tandem catalysts for reversible hydrogen storage in liquid organic hydrogen carriers. [Extracted from the article]
