Abstract
- Dr. Nan Liu has been awarded the 2021 Nier Prize by the Meteoritical Society for her contributions to the field of presolar grains and nuclear astrophysics. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2009 and a PhD in Cosmochemistry from the University of Chicago in 2014. Her research focused on using resonance ionization mass spectrometry (RIMS) to measure trace element isotopic compositions of presolar SiC grains, which provided important insights into the nucleosynthesis occurring in asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars. Dr. Liu has published numerous papers on the subject and is recognized as a leading scientist in her field. [Extracted from the article]
