White lesions of the oral cavity and oral-systemic health: A REVIEW FOR THE DENTAL HYGIENIST.

The article presents a literature review of common oral white lesions of the oral cavity and oral-systemic health. Examples of white lesions are described including frictional keratosis, smokeless tobacco keratosis, leukoedema, oral candidiasis, white sponge nevus, aspirin burn, lichen planus, oral hairy leukoplakia, squamous cell carcinoma, proliferative verrucuous leukoplakia, benign migratory glossitis and oral cicatricial pemphigoid.
