Abstract
- "Queer Natures, Queer Mythologies" is a collection of writings by the late Sam See that challenges queer theory's rejection of nature and explores the intersection of nature, myth, and queer historicist methodologies in modernist literature. See argues that nature and art are interconnected and that queer feeling can be viewed as an aesthetic and affective experience. The book examines the works of Virginia Woolf, Langston Hughes, Oscar Wilde, Walt Whitman, and others to demonstrate how these writers turned to nature to articulate desire outside of normativity and identity. The volume also delves into the role of myths in the historiography of queerness and sexuality. Overall, "Queer Natures, Queer Mythologies" offers a significant contribution to queer theory and queer modernist studies. [Extracted from the article]
