Abstract

Abstract: Spasticity is one of the most common motor and tonus disorders during the initial phase with traumatic brain injured patients. The evaluation of spasticity is mainly clinical but it is very important to prevent complications such as limitation of range of motion, pain, decubitus ulcers. The therapeutic options consist in classical indications such as baclofen, dantrolene, tizanidine, benzodiazepine, associated with physiotherapy. Other additive therapeutic options could be discussed: use of toxin botulinum in focal spasticity and intrathecal baclofen infusion in case of severe spasticity (often associeted with dysautonomic disorders.).
