Abstract

The impressive characteristics of hybrid composites with aluminium as base metal includes superior strength, good resistance to corrosion, have resulted in their increasing popularity in various applications. These composites find widespread use in fabrication of the Scuba tanks, Yachts, Bicycle frames and Aluminium cans. that undergone friction welding and then the heat treatment. Through the use /SiC/Graphite hybrid composites of salt spray and the purpose this study is to investigate the corrosion behaviour of AA6061potentiodynamic polarisation techniques, the experimentally determined corrosion rates of various weld joints, including as-welded (AW), solution-treated (ST), solution-treated and aged (STA), and artificially aged (AA) joints, were examined.
