Abstract

This article discusses the impact of a Mobile Stroke Unit (MSU) on acute stroke care in a middle-sized city in Germany. The study analyzes data from 552 patients with acute cerebrovascular events and compares the process times for emergency medical care (EMC) with a modeled scenario using an MSU. The results show that the use of an MSU significantly reduces the alarm-to-needle time for thrombolysed patients and increases the proportion of patients receiving thrombolysis within the "golden hour." The study suggests that MSUs can expedite the care pathway for stroke patients and improve outcomes. However, the study has limitations, and further research is needed to optimize prehospital stroke care. [Extracted from the article]
