Abstract

A 39-year-old man developed progressive disseminated histoplasmosis (PDH) while being treated for presumed Reiter's syndrome. He experienced recurring symptoms despite pharmacological treatment and eventually developed cutaneous lesions, leukocytoclastic vasculitis, and chronic interstitial nephritis. Over the course of several years, he was treated with various immunomodulatory drugs, but his condition continued to worsen. He eventually passed away due to PDH. The development of PDH was attributed to the immunosuppressive effects of the medications he was taking. [Extracted from the article]
