Governança Pública em Caxambu-MG: do Índice à Materialidade nas Políticas Públicas.

In 2020, the municipality of Caxambu-MG came 10th in the Municipal Governance Index Ranking prepared by the Federal Council of Administration among Brazilian municipalities with similar characteristics. As it is a fundamentally quantitative analysis, this indicator was unable to point out which practices are developed by municipal management, nor the impacts that the process has on municipal public policies. The aim of this study was therefore to analyze governance in public social assistance and health policies in the municipality of Caxambu-MG, through documentary and field research. The main results were the perception that the governance process in the municipality of Caxambu is not uniform and is at different levels of maturity between the two public policies, indicating that the strategic process of implementation, control, evaluation and monitoring of targets is still incipient, especially in the social assistance policy.
