Abstract

This article examines the timing of sensitization to hen's eggs and nuts in infants with eczema. The study found that the age of sensitization onset differed between egg white and tree nuts, with sensitization to nuts occurring at older ages. The rate of sensitization to nuts was notably lower than that to egg whites. The study suggests that introducing nuts by 6 months of age may be a safe strategy to reduce the incidence of food allergy. However, the study also acknowledges the challenges of introducing nuts due to their texture during the initial phases of weaning. The authors plan to conduct further research to explore the preventive effects of walnut allergy based on the timing of walnut consumption initiation. [Extracted from the article]
