Abstract

This article is an interview with DJ and dance music producer Ian Friday, who discusses his experiences in the New York City music scene in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Friday talks about his multicultural upbringing in Brooklyn and the diverse musical influences that shaped his love for music. He also discusses the impact of clubs like the Paradise Garage and Club Shelter on the music scene, as well as his own creation of the Tea Party event. The article also explores the transition from vinyl records to digital formats in DJing and the effects it had on the industry and the DJ experience.
