Abstract

The Chronicle of Philanthropy is an independent nonprofit organization that prioritizes integrity and transparency. They disclose their sources of philanthropic support in every issue and on their website. The Lilly Endowment is providing over $2.2 million to support Chronicle reporters, editors, and visual designers. The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation is providing funding for the Chronicle's work on nonprofits and grant making, as well as a webinar series on nonprofit leadership. The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, JPB Foundation, and Einhorn Collaborative are supporting the creation of The Commons, a section dedicated to helping philanthropy and nonprofits close divides. The Chronicle's reporters and editors determine themes and approaches for grant-funded work, and their benefactors have no influence over coverage. The Chronicle also receives support from other foundations. More information about their policies for accepting philanthropic gifts can be found on their website. [Extracted from the article]
