Abstract

The article discusses the concept of open access (OA) publishing, which provides unrestricted and free availability of research papers. It explains the five main types of OA journals: Gold OA, Green OA, Hybrid OA, Diamond/Platinum OA, and Bronze OA. The advantages of OA include increased dissemination of research, higher citation rates, and improved academic recognition. However, there are also challenges, such as the cost of publication, issues with quality control, and the presence of predatory journals. The article highlights the need for regulation and quality standards in OA publishing. [Extracted from the article]
