Abstract

This study proposes an explicit time-integration scheme for the scaled boundary finite element method applied to unbounded domains, leveraging the acceleration unit-impulse response formulation and a block-wise mass lumping strategy to enhance computational efficiency. Additionally, adopting an extrapolation scheme in the calculation of the linearly varying acceleration response and exploiting the asymptotically linear behavior by truncating the convolution integral leads to a robust and efficient explicit time-integration scheme. The proposed methodology is validated through numerical examples, demonstrating its potential for large-scale wave propagation problems in unbounded and heterogeneous media. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
