Abstract

The prevalence of pain places an enormous burden on individuals and the healthcare system. The management of chronic pain has long been a complex and multifaceted challenge, requiring a comprehensive approach that encompasses various treatment modalities. As the field of palliative care evolves, the integration of technology, particularly pain management apps, presents a promising avenue for enhancing patients’ outcomes. This review aims to identify the challenges related to the implementation of these applications into clinical practice while highlighting the potential they hold for pain management strategies. We also analyzed the ClinicalTrials.gov dataset to scope the ongoing landscape and future perspectives of mobile app interventions in pain management at the end of life. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
