Abstract

In a retrospective study conducted between January 2018 and September 2023, 12 patients aged 60-94 years were observed to have experienced impaired renal function, thrombopenia with epistaxis, or lack of efficacy with dalbavancin, rifampicin, or cefditoren for various types of endocarditis. Complications of endocarditis included heart failure, abscesses, embolisms, osteomyelitis, renal failure, and other serious conditions. The patients had previously been treated with various medications before being switched to dalbavancin, rifampicin, or cefditoren. Unfortunately, 10 of the patients experienced clinical failure and ultimately died due to complications related to endocarditis or other infections. [Extracted from the article]
