Abstract

A 60-year-old man developed emphysematous pyelonephritis while being treated with dapagliflozin for heart failure. He also experienced lack of efficacy during antibiotic therapy with cefixime, meropenem, levofloxacin, and metronidazole. The man had several pre-existing conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, obesity, and chronic kidney disease. He was treated with multiple antibiotics and underwent hemodialysis, eventually showing improvement in his condition. [Extracted from the article]
