Abstract

A 24-year-old man developed Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP) after receiving the tozinameran (Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19) vaccine. He experienced a rash, arthralgia, and abdominal pain, along with elevated white blood cell count and proteinuria. A biopsy confirmed leukocytoclastic vasculitis, consistent with HSP. Treatment with tofacitinib temporarily improved symptoms, but they relapsed. Prednisone was then prescribed, leading to resolution of symptoms. The patient's blood tests returned to normal, and he was tapered off prednisone over three months. [Extracted from the article]
