Abstract

The article discusses the concept of net zero performance in relation to curtain-wall systems in buildings. It explains that net zero can have different meanings to different people and is sometimes used loosely without proper measurement of greenhouse gas emissions. However, conscientious designers and the building-products industry have made net zero and near-net-zero buildings a reality. The article emphasizes the importance of curtain walls in a building's energy performance and highlights recent projects that have achieved net zero carbon metrics. It also discusses the challenges and opportunities in optimizing curtain-wall systems for GHG emission reduction. [Extracted from the article]
