Abstract

A 76-year-old woman developed BRASH syndrome while being treated with metoprolol for hypertension. She had a medical history of type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, hypothyroidism, atrial fibrillation, peripheral artery disease, and chronic kidney disease. She presented to the Emergency Department with fatigue and bradycardia, and it was discovered that she was taking metoprolol and losartan for hypertension. She was diagnosed with BRASH syndrome as an adverse reaction to metoprolol and received treatment in the ICU. Her renal function returned to baseline, and she improved before being transferred to the telemetry floor. [Extracted from the article]
