Abstract

The article focuses on expanding the internalist reading of Buddhist chariot similes by incorporating externalist social and technological perspectives. Topics discussed include Slavoj Žižek's critique of Western Buddhism in relation to capitalism, the comparison of chariot metaphors in Buddhist, Platonic, and Upanishadic texts, and the potential of Buddhism to engage critically with societal and technological issues.
