Abstract
- The experiment was to study the effects of crude extract of Flos sophorae and Fructus sophorae on the growth performance, immunity, and antioxidant capacity of broiler chickens. A total of 300 one-day-old AA broilers were randomly divided into four groups, with five replicates in each group and 15 chickens in each replicate. Group A (control group) was fed a basal diet, and groups B, C and D were fed the basal diet supplemented with 100, 150, 200 mg/kg crude extract of Flos sophorae and Fructus sophorae, respectively. The experimental period was 42 days. The results showed that 1~42 days, compared with the control group, the average daily weight gain of broilers in the experimental group was significantly increased (P<0.05), and the feed to gain ratio was significantly reduced (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the yellowness of the pectoral and leg muscles and the shear force in the group D were significantly decreased (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the thymus index, bursa index, and serum IgG in the groups C and D were significantly increased at 21 and 42 days (P<0.05), and the antibody titers of Newcastle disease and avian influenza in the groups C and D at 28 days were significantly increased (P<0.05). The content of serum TNF-α in the groups C and D was significantly decreased (P<0.05), and the content of serum IL-10 was significantly increased (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the T-AOC, T-SOD and GSH-Px activity in the serum of the experimental groups were significantly increased (P<0.05), and the content of MDA in the serum was significantly reduced (P<0.05). The study indicates that that adding crude extract of Flos sophorae and Fructus sophorae to the feed can promote the growth and development of broilers, improve meat quality, enhance the body's immune system, and strengthen antioxidant functions, with the addition of 200 mg/kg Flos sophorae and Fructus sophorae rude extract showing better results.
