Abstract

This article discusses the responses of panicoid grasses to chilling stress, focusing on lipid metabolism and gene expression. Chilling stress poses a significant challenge to plant growth and development, particularly for tropical-origin crops. The study found that foxtail millet, a chilling-tolerant grass, exhibited distinct lipid changes and rhythmicity in response to chilling stress, similar to Arabidopsis. The research also identified specific genes that may be responsible for lipid responses during chilling stress. The study emphasizes the importance of considering time-specific changes and the role of the circadian clock in regulating stress responses. [Extracted from the article]
