Abstract

The article features Yina Quique, a speech language pathologist (SLP). One of Quique's first patients in her home country of Colombia was another SLP who had post-stroke aphasia. She learned that creating culturally appropriate assessment tools would require conducting and publishing research, only possible with a related doctorate. She developed a repository of sentences for use in everyday life.
