Abstract

A study from 2009 to 2022 reported on 8 patients who experienced lack of efficacy during immunosuppression with tacrolimus and mycophenolic-acid for liver transplant rejection prophylaxis. These patients, diagnosed with various conditions like cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, underwent liver transplantation but developed antibody-mediated rejection despite therapy. Treatment with immune-globulin, methylprednisolone, bortezomib, rituximab, or steroids was attempted, with varying outcomes including chronic rejection and re-transplantation for some patients. One patient ultimately passed away, but the majority saw resolution of their rejection. [Extracted from the article]
