Abstract
- The article discusses the case of a 58-year-old woman with Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 12 (SCA12) who underwent bilateral deep brain stimulation of the posterior subthalamic area (PSA) to alleviate intractable action tremors. The patient's tremors significantly improved post-surgery, leading to better quality of life and reduced tremor amplitudes. The study highlights the effectiveness of deep brain stimulation in treating medication-resistant tremors in patients with SCA12, emphasizing the need for continued monitoring to assess long-term outcomes.
